The selection of the concentration depends on different factors and can be outlined, as followed:
Medium concentration (100%: 75%) is used in most grinding operations, in wheels with the layer grit size from 125/100 to 63/50, also in cup wheels with the wide abrasive layer (7-20 mm).
High concentration (125 - 200%) is used in the following cases:
in profile grinding wheels for better profile (form) maintenance; in cup wheels with the abrasive layer width 5 mm and less.
Low concentration (50%) is used in the wheels with the microgrit size 40/28 and finer.
High-porous structure is a main feature of high-porous CBN vitrified wheels - AEROBOR®. The size of pores in AEROBOR wheels is controllable and can be regulated depending on the grinding application requirements. Usually, it is recommended basing on the grinding conditions and purposes, stipulated by the customer, and depends on CBN grit size.
